Using a blend of online training combined with qualified mentor support, we do not give you a generic classroom experience, but a tailored package that will actually help you progress.

Want to move into a new sector? We recognise that many people are rethinking their career or may have been forced to change sector. Our qualified staff can support you with this.

Free mentoring

All participants are supported by a qualified mentor, who you will talk to weekly or fortnightly. This practical support helps you to overcome barriers and talk through decisions, applications and prepare for interviews.

Free training

A programme of support that helps you to overcome the difficulties you are facing with your job hunt. This programme is aimed at helping you get the role you are seeking and includes:

  • Reviewing your CV
  • Interview practice
  • Confidence building
  • Different types of interview
  • Job seeking skills
  • The precise content is agreed with you at the start of the programme.
  • You will meet with a qualified mentor who will support you through the course. They will work with you to identify the online training to complete from our library of 100s of courses.
  • You complete the online 15-minute lessons and meet regularly with your mentor, who will help you to embed the learning into your job hunt.
  • If you need it, an English tutor can help you with developing or improving your written CV to make yours stand out in a pile of CVs.
  • Learners can also access budgeting support with a Maths tutor, who will work with you to review spending, understand benefits and potential income from roles you are looking at.
  • This is a roll-on, roll-off provision that is available any week of the year. Online learning can be completed at a time that suits you and is accessible 24/7. Mentor sessions happen once a week or once a fortnight, depending on your need. There are some optional group sessions available for specific topics. Most people going through this programme find that they are completing in 4-6 weeks.

To be eligible you need to:

  1. Live in West Sussex
  2. Have a right to live and work in the UK

How does it work?

Initial meeting

  • Eligibility check (written CV, passport/birth certificate, proof of address).
  • Induction to programme.

1.Preparation

  • Advanced CV and job hunting online course, support with a trained mentor to reflect on your CV.

2. Training

  • Choose from a library of over 100 short online courses to help you prepare for writing job applications and answering interview questions relating to the skills required for the jobs you are applying for.

3. Mentoring

  • Online support from a trained job and career mentor as you move forward towards your new role.

4. Post programme support

Upto 6 weeks of support after you complete your training to support you into your new role
